The soundtrack to this series is now available, with over 14 hours of music! We invite you to explore these mystical concerts with us through nine volumes overflowing with full-length tracks including cinematic alaps; live Qawwali from its original settings; remastered tracks from the masters of the last century; and our contemporary master musicians from Pakistan.

Qawwali - Music of the Mystics is the award-winning feature documentary film series that has brought us unique glimpses into the ancient world of Sufi mysticism and spirituality. These are traditions that have carried on for nearly one thousand years, touching the lives of billions across continents.

- Collected, recorded, and painstakingly remastered over 20 years -

"The Qawwali compilations are a must-have for anyone who enjoys an eclectic mix of traditional Darbari Qawwali music by the Grand Masters, with masterful renditions by the current generation," says Tahir Qawwal. "I'm really excited to share these elusive and rare live recordings from some of Pakistan’s most iconic classical musicians." Any and all profits go back to the artists by 100%.

For over 20 years, Tahir Qawwal of Fanna-fi-Allah has traveled tirelessly through Pakistan to record the Qawwali performances of the masters. His record label, Tabaruq Records is at once a recording and publishing company, an archive and a conservatory. Tahir has painstakingly handpicked and restored some of the oldest Qawwali recordings by tracking them down through the dusty storages of his teachers’ grandfathers in their original, analogue record and reel format. These tracks have been meticulously remastered in Volume 8: Masters Remastered.

Tahir's two-decades-long relentless devotion to his music training in Qawwali and Indian Classical Music has given him the music knowledge required to record, mix and master all these tracks and offer them to the world, He uses state of the art technology, and the very best possible, high-quality equipment and techniques in order to capture the authentic environment.

The result: a towering body of work that is regarded as the most significant cinematic contribution to the Qawwali tradition - not just for its beautifully poetic rendering of the Qawwali artform, but also for its cultural depth.

- This music touches your heart even if you don't understand the language -

"Most importantly, you feel an indescribable power that can only be felt when listening to Qawwali. The music is so powerful that it often draws emotion from people who have no understanding or knowledge of the language in which these songs are sung.”, says Tahir. “The sound of Qawwali vibrates with the pulse of life and is a sublime expression of our collective humanity. Your heart is deeply moved by the ecstatic poetry performed by the Qawwali singers, who rise to emotional climaxes before your ears. These albums were created with the utmost love and reverence for the musical creativity and emotive power of this music culture."

The Official Motion Picture Soundtrack for Music of the Mystics is Tahir Qawwal’s latest opus, and it arrives with a rich set of music that spans across nine volumes. What makes this release so monumental? Well for starters, there are 76 high-quality recordings from the most iconic qawwals in Pakistan: Ustad Amjad Sabri, Abida Parveen Sahiba, Ustad Fareed Ayaz and Ustad Akhtar Sharif, to mention a few.

- State of the art recording & mastering technology -

The soundtrack compilation has been taken to another level because it has been recorded live in dargahs rather than in studio environments; meaning listeners can experience the raw emotions and true spiritual power of this centuries-old tradition. The tapestry of compositions in this box set also includes cinematic acoustic instrumentals (bansuri and cello) besides the prayerful soundscape captured during the sacred Samā gatherings in the shrines of the Sufi saints, where the masters perform Qawwali.

This is why Qawwali means so much to those who experience it live or on film - because this sound reminds us of our transcendent nature and our connection with the Divine. The compositions are both poetically and musically sophisticated, yet they speak to all people.

May Qawwali live forever within these tunes!
